Why Zafar

Quality at every grain

The habit is older than the brand: rice judged by hand, on the floor, every day. It is still how the mill runs.

Men grade trays of rice at a table; the founder leans in to inspect a sample.

Grain length & uniformity

Every variety, precisely measured

Grain length is the first thing we check, and the clearest signal of a lot’s quality. Each Basmati variety is measured and sorted against its expected profile before it ever reaches a bag.

Non-Basmati

The same discipline, every category

Non-Basmati varieties are held to the same standard — grain length, shape and uniformity checked and documented before grading, the same as any Basmati lot.

On every lot

What we check

  • Grain length & uniformity

Every lot measured and sorted — length retention is the whole point of a Basmati sample.

  • Moisture

Dried and held to spec so the rice travels and stores without loss.

  • Broken grain

Graded to the agreed percentage — 5%, 25%, or to your contract.

  • Purity & colour

Colour-sorted and hand-checked to remove discoloured and foreign grain.

  • Documentation

Full export paperwork and phytosanitary certification with every shipment.

  • Traceability

100% Narang-origin paddy — we know which fields the crop came from.
